Denise Agnew, RN, OCN
My philosophy is “No suffering allowed!" I believe that things we deal with in life are hard enough. We need help, love and understanding. We need support, nurturing, a friend at all times, as well as when we are ill or have someone who is experiencing illness. We all need motivation and coaching from time to time.
I believe that I have been given a gift to help people in this way and many more. It is my life’s work to help make a difficult time easier and to help facilitate healing in whatever way is needed.
I have 38+ years experience in Oncology and General Nursing. I am a Licensed RN and Oncology Certified Nurse. I have spent these years working in hospitals, doctor offices and clinics, and in the home care setting.
I have helped many patients and family members all over the country over the phone and in several instances have helped save patients lives just by hearing their symptoms and directing them to call their doctor or go to the ER.
I have taken care of people in all phases of cancer and serious illness care, from new diagnosis to end of life care.
I have studied Advanced Oncology, Care of the Caregiver, as well as Energy Medicine.
I have attended Ministerial School, and have learned techniques to help support people in difficult life situations both emotionally and spiritually.
I use humor, music and intuition to help calm and strengthen the patient, family or friend when needed.
.I provide affirmative prayer and affirmations, as well as teach coping skills and meditation techniques.
I recognize the person as a whole person, not just an illness and therefore make every effort to address all needs.
I am often called on to work with people who are having a difficult time dealing with a diagnosis, treatments or the whole life situation which occurs when you find yourself experiencing cancer or life threatening illnesses.
I am a strong patient advocate and a hands on caregiver as well as a Cancer Support Nurse over the phone/internet.
